To the Pray-er,
Sometimes life spins us around. We find ourselves throwing our hands into the air in defeat. This is a gesture to stop an activity or an effort to admit that one cannot do anything to make a situation better .
Well, I say this: Action is a Reaction! According to Newton‘s law, for every action force, there is an equal in size and opposite direction reaction force. So instead of throwing your hands up in the air, try having a different reaction. PRAY!
Sometimes we “work in prayer." However, prayer needs to “work in” us! Continuous prayer should be in constant work within us. We should always be in prayer.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, "Rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
Acts 6:4, "But we will give of ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word."
Sometimes I think I am coming to God empty-handed. Yet, by cupping your hands together, you have a reaction that is the opposite of throwing your hands in the air. I see my empty hands out before me and a flow of gold dust is falling into a mound as I pray. It is a sparkling flow. Cup your hands together to receive your portion.
God, help us to be vessels that are full of you. We do not want to gather and hold what you give us. Let the gold flow out of us. Don’t let us store up what you have measured out. As a vessel like a hollow container, or a holder of any kind, used to carry prayers from heaven is our destined design. May The Lord define us as a people who have a quality (such as grace) infused within us. A child of light, a true vessel of the Lord!
2 Corinthians4:6 "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of the darkness, has shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ but we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us."
2 Timothy 2:21 "If a man purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel to honor, sanctified and meet for the masters use and prepared under every good work."
Action and Reaction are to be of a godly nature. We are to pray without ceasing and hold out our hands for the portion that is given to us. We are to maintain our vessels as holy unto The Lord. Be willing to carry a substance or a message to another place. We are made to hold and then deliver! Fill my vessel! Continue in Prayer!
