To the Young Momma,
A thought that has been on repeat in my mind, even before all the tragic events shown on the news lately. I have felt afraid and guilty for having children in a world that is so scary and chaotic. My thought, "Am I having babies just to put them through war?"
I was reminded tonight that God knew exactly what this world would be like in this generation. He has appointed not only us, but our children for this very time in history. They are not a mistake in anyway. We are not either. Our children will be warriors and they will carry the presence and the power of God's Kingdom! They are a part of God's solution. They are not victims of the chaos around us. New life is God's reminder that there is still hope out there, that there is still a future and that His purpose is unfolding.
"I know the plans I have for you, declares The Lord, plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
"I will give thanks to you, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made, Wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:14
This world is so loud, but you can make your home still with your prayers, your consistency, your leadership, your faith, your good will, and your love! These things all shape the hearts that will carry courage into such a separated, weak, and terrifying world. Anchor your home in nothing but Christ alone! (Hebrews 6:19)
We need to be reminded that every generation has carried some type of brokenness, but also every generation has carried out revival, restoration, and hope in Christ!
I will raise my children in this world. Not with fear of man, but with unwavering faith in God. Our children are not accidents. They were chosen specifically by God for a time such as this one.
"Yet who knows whether you have come into the kingdom for such a time as this." Esther 4:14
